Ing. Václav Hýža

Václav Hýža is responsible for managing production and the day-to-day operations at ALU-COLOR. His role is relatively straightforward—production planning, cost estimation, personnel management, procurement, sales, HR, technical matters, and, above all, handling whatever issues arise in production on any given day. Often, this includes dealing with things that, according to all plans, definitely shouldn't have happened.

He considers his greatest professional asset to be the ability to quickly get his bearings in unexpected situations, find solutions, and keep production running. He views true success as having customers return, orders ship on time, and the team functioning smoothly. He jokingly says that, after years of experience, he can spot trouble not just by the sound of the phone ringing, but sometimes even by who is calling.

At work, he appreciates things that make sense, function properly, and—ideally—don't require addressing more than once. Which, incidentally, is a rather optimistic outlook for someone in manufacturing.

Outside of work, Václav is far more active than one might expect from a production director. He engages in ultra-trail running, hiking, traveling, and astrophotography. He spends his free time either covering dozens of kilometers in the mountains or spending hours at night by his telescope, photographing objects millions of light-years away.

In the mountains, he particularly values the peace, the open space, and the feeling that no one can come up to him asking, "Got a minute?" Although he does occasionally bring his phone along, his ideal version of relaxation is a day when it doesn't ring even once. So far, however, that remains more of an experimental theory than a proven reality.

Václav describes himself in three words: I devise. I solve. I’ll make it.

His motto: "There are no problems. Only tasks requiring varying amounts of coffee."
